Eeshaan Chaudhuri ‘27 has been elected Student Assembly president, marking the first change in leadership for the student government in two years. He won the race against a two-year incumbent and will be joined by Hayden Watkins ‘28, who was elected executive vice president. Chaudhuri campaigned on a platform of structural reform and policy accountability. He has pushed for the assembly to focus on realistic initiatives that have a direct impact on students rather than passing resolutions without clear plans for follow-through. Watkins plans to improve internal operations and increase the assembly’s presence in daily campus life. His platform also included a commitment to building student resistance against the Trump administration during his term. The election results showed a major win for progressive organizations on campus. Every candidate endorsed by groups like the Young Democratic Socialists of America and Students for Justice in Palestine won their respective races. An extremely close call in Brooks proved that every vote counts. The new representatives begin their terms on June 15.
