There, they skinned and processed the animal, leaving some fresh meat bags in the fridge. Photos of the incident quickly circulated on Sidechat and Reddit. The school briefly shut down the dorm kitchen for deep cleaning and sanitization. State authorities said the hunt was legal, and the university took no disciplinary action against the students—one of whom would later comment on a meat-lover’s podcast that “black bear pastrami” “sounds delicious”. Technically, there was no rule that said you CAN’T skin a bear in a dorm kitchen. That’s now changed. The updated policy aims to clarify expectations and maintain sanitary conditions in shared residential spaces.
