Alumnus Peter Kaestner ’76 is heading to campus to share the story of how he became the first person in history to document 10,000 bird species in the wild. The retired U.S. diplomat recently cemented his Guinness World Record in the Philippines, capping off a seven-decade journey across more than 190 countries and every recognized bird family. Kaestner will speak Thursday in the Willard Straight Hall Browsing Library as part of the Sigma Phi Society’s Tanenbaum Speaker Series. Admission is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, with a live Zoom stream available for those who cannot attend in person.
