Via @cornellsun, all 22 Cornell Interfraternity Council chapter presidents voted unanimously to cancel fraternity social events this weekend, a decision backed by the Panhellenic Council.
The student-led freeze comes after a lawsuit prompted the Tompkins County DA to reopen a criminal investigation into an alleged 2024 sexual assault at the Chi Phi house.
The pause follows Ithaca Mayor Robert Cantelmo pushing for a citywide moratorium on Greek life permits, after publicly calling out the Cornell administration’s handling of the case as “appalling.”
