We now have our best look yet at the complete “Chi Phi Actives” Snapchat group chat from the night of the alleged assault. We included an image previously seen in the lawsuit, alongside newly uncovered images from CBS New York.
The messages in the group are deeply disturbing, seemingly illuminating a culture of casual, careless, and comedic r*pe at Chi Phi’s Xi chapter.
The exchange captures the moments members discussed the victim as “free p***y” at 1:42 AM, followed by a member asking if the “shop” was “still open” and receiving the response, “Yeah 😈“. Later, a brother tell his fellow brothers to “whip it out.”
The blurring of some words and identities was performed by CBS, not Cornellians Only.
Reportedly, more than 50 men were included in the group chat; none of them stopped the assault.
While Cornell noted that its initial Title IX investigation concluded with sanctions, the broader release of the digital paper trail continues to fuel student frustration over how thoroughly administrators and local officials handled the case from the start.
