Human Ecology graduate Hayley Paige Gutman ’07 reached a new career milestone during Super Bowl LX. Her “Becoming Jane” bridal gown was the centerpiece of a legally binding wedding performed during Bad Bunny’s halftime show. Gutman is a major figure in the bridal industry and a well-known personality from the show “Say Yes to the Dress.” She provided several options for a confidential project through a stylist, unaware of exactly how the dress would be used. The versatile ivory lace and tulle gown was inspired by Jane Austen and designed to adapt to the wearer’s story. Seeing her work on such a massive stage was a surreal moment for the Cornellian designer.
