Adjunct professor David Kornreich Ph.D. ’01 and passenger Andrew Harrell have passed away following a small plane crash in neighboring Enfield on Sunday afternoon. The aircraft took off from Ithaca Tompkins International Airport before experiencing suspected mechanical issues. Witnesses near Hillendale Golf Course reported hearing engine trouble shortly before the crash. Kornreich was pronounced dead at the scene, while Harrell later died from his injuries at Cayuga Medical Center. May they rest in peace. Multiple local emergency agencies responded to the site. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the incident.
